Southern rock -legenda antaa uudella levyllään kunnon läimäyksen paksun moderneille päälaillemme, sillä tämä musiikki ei päädy kompromisseihin muutoksen paineessa, mutta onnistuu silti kuulostamaan tuoreelta. God & Gunsin sanoma on vankkumaton, joka välittyy varmasti parhaiten kaikille miehekkään musiikin ystäville. Hitto vie, miksei myös kauniimmalle sukupuolelle! Nainen, joka tietää mistä tosimiehet on tehty, osaa varmasti arvostaa myös God & Gunsia.

Still Unbroken on juuri sitä itseään, lihaista vaan ei luisevaa. Simple Life iskee itselleni todella kovaa, ja tämä biisi pistää kaupunkitollot nuolemaan Skynyrdien saappaanpohjia. Unwrite That Song on balladi, jossa on syvyyttä ja tunnetta, ja minä ainakin tykkään siitä. That Ain't My American viesti on selkeä ja auttaa kuuntelijaa ymmärtämään miksi etelä säilyy aina vahvana, ravisteli kritiikki Amerikkaa sitten kuinka pahasti tahansa. Nimibiisi antaa myös kunnon potkun persuksille, mitä tulee siihen hintaan, jonka yhteiskunta maksaa Jumalan poistamisesta koulujärjestelmästä ja sen unohtamisesta, että yksilöllä on oikeus puolustaa elämäänsä, maataan ja omaisuutta.

Kaiken kaikkiaan kyseessä on vahva vaikkakin rento eikä erityisen raskas albumi. Kokonaisuudessa on kypsää eteläistä vibaa, jonka voimakkuus ja aitous yksinkertaisesti pakottaa kuuntelijan tykkäämään Lynyrd Skynyrdistä ja siitä, mitä he edustavat.

Southern rock legends Lynyrd Skynyrd slap up upside our fat modern bitch-assed heads with some true grit real music that doesn't compromise in the face of change, but at the same time it comes off sounding fresh. God & Guns carries a staunch message which will resonate with the true men out there above all. Hell, why not the women too! Sure, the girls who know what real men are like will be able to appreciate God & Guns too.

Still Unbroken is just that, solid as it gets with a full side of meat on the proverbial bone. Simple Life resonates big time with me, and the city slickers of the rat race can lick the dust from both Skyntyrd's boots and mine. Unwrite That Song is a ballad that has depth and emotion, and I like it. That Ain't My America carries a distinct message that helps you understand why the south is always strong despite the critics blasting the ol' US of A. The title track also gives you a little kick upside the old ass in regards to the price society pays for taking God out of the school system and forgetting each person's right to defend their own life, land and property.

Overall a solid album, albeit rather laid back and not all that heavy at all. There's a very mature southern vibe here however that is so staunch and heart-felt that you can't help but dig Lynyrd Skynyrd for what and who they are.
