Entisen Dokken-kitaristin, George Lynchin, tuorein soolokiekko jää kauas Dokkenin loistokkuudesta. Sanotaan se nyt tähän kärkeen. Kill All Control -levyltä löytyy silti toki hyviäkin biisejä.

Levyn avaava nimiraita ei ole mitenkään erityinen, eikä kakkosraita Donen A Circle Of Freaksilta kuulostava post-grungekaan vakuuta, mutta kolmantena kuultava Fly on the Wall on erinomaisine kertosäkeineen yksi lätyn parhaista veisuista. Sun on myös kelvollinen, nopeahko raita, mutta yleisesti ottaen levyn anti jää mielestäni jokseenkin ohueksi. En tiedä, yrittääkö Lynch kuulostaa turhan nykyaikaiselta vai mitä, mutta levyllä on varsin paljon post-grungen tapaisia elementtejä. Ajoittain kiekko kuulostaa samalta kuin Skid Row Thickskin-albumillaan, joskaan Lynch porukoineen ei yllä samalle tasolle Snake Sabon poppoon kanssa.

Albumi ei siis ole mikään loistokas. Toki silti löytyy musikaalista lahjakkuutta, koska Lynch on pätevä kitaristi, mutta rock-levynä tämä on mitäänsanomaton.

Former Dokken guitarist George Lynch's latest solo band effort falls far short of his Dokken glories to be brutally honest to open up this can of critique. That's not to say there aren't some good songs on this Kill All Control album.

The opening title track isn't anything special and second track Done is some post-grunge attempt that reminds me of A Circle Of Freaks, but the third song Fly On The Wall is one of the better songs here with an excellent chorus. Sun is also an alright faster number, but overall there's not much meat on the bone here in my ears. I don't know if Lynch is trying to sound too modern or something, but I hear a lot of post-grunge elements on this album. Some of the vibes come off sounding similar to what Skid Row did with their Thickskin album, only Lynch and Co. don't quite reach as high as Snake Sabo and Co.

Not a great album by any stretch. Sure, a musical album it is as Lynch is competent as a guitarist, but as a rock album this is pretty blah.
